East Anglia’s Children Hospice Charity fun days

Posted: Friday, September 04, 2015

In August, we got into the charity spirit a little bit as our employees took part in two fun days for the East Anglia Children’s Hospice (EACH).

Around 300 staff enjoyed the charity days at our Cambridgeshire site – which was spilt across 24th and 27th of August and raised 624.71 for the charity.

A range of stall and fun activities ran throughout the days including a hole in one putting green, members of staff in the stocks and their colleagues donating money to throw a wet sponge at them and some classic fun fair games.

EACH has been selected as one of Greenvale nominated charities for 2015 and staff members came up with the idea as a way to raise money and have fun at the same time.

Louise Youles, Production Apprentice at Greenvale, is helping to organise the day. She said: “We’re all really looking forward to our charity days at Greenvale and there’s a real enthusiasm for some fun activities which will raise money for a great cause at the same time. The stocks seem to be a popular one at the moment!”

“EACH were nominated by staff members as they saw the wonderful work they do supporting local families and we hope to raise as much money as possible for them.”

Lucy Glover, EACH Cambridgeshire Fundraiser, said: “We are thrilled that Greenvale has chosen to support us as one of its nominated charities and would like to thank everyone involved in arranging these charity days. EACH cares for children and young people with life threatening conditions across Cambridgeshire and supports their families. Any funds raised at these events will go towards funding these vital services.”
