Greenvale & Tesco team up to raise money for Cancer Research UK’s Race for Life

A cheque for £75,578.83 was presented to Cancer Research UK at Tesco’s Cheshunt Extra store on Wednesday 22nd April 2015. The money was raised was made up of donations received from sales of Tesco’s Finest Venezia ‘Race for Life’ promotional packs.

Greenvale Potatoes, one of the UK’s leading suppliers of fresh potatoes and Tesco joined forces to donate 2p from each of the 3.7m packs of Tesco Finest Venezia Salad Potatoes sold between July 2014 and January 2015.

The cheque was the largest donation made in Fresh Produce for Race for Life Receiving the cheque on behalf of Cancer Research, Shervin Behzadi, Sponsorship Manager, commented,” Venezia potato promotional packs have been a huge success and we’re delighted by the total of £75,578.83 total that will go towards our life saving research. We’re already extremely excited to see what we can achieve together next year.’.

Cancer Research UK’s Race for Life, in partnership with Tesco, is an inspiring women- only series of events which raise millions of pounds every year to help defeat cancer by funding life-saving research.

Women and girls of all ages, abilities, shapes and sizes from all over the UK join together to walk, jog, or run to raise money to help beat over 200 types of cancer affecting men, women and children.
